Kamai™ Hybrid Media Player

Kamai™ is a hybrid media player that offers a cost-effective way to deliver advanced hybrid TV and streaming services such as over-the-top (OTT) video and Web media services. It also enables personal media sharing throughout a subscriber's home via a wired or wireless* network connection. Compact and stylish, Kamai is a powerful and flexible platform for decoding popular video formats, including MPEG-4 (AVC/H.264), MPEG-2 and VC-1, as well as advanced audio formats and transcoding capabilities. Kamai is also compatible with 3D programming from major broadcasters.

Kamai is ideal for hybrid TV and OTT streaming services. It supplements traditional linear TV, such as terrestrial, satellite and digital cable sources with streaming content delivered over the Internet. Kamai's integrated tuner capabilities provide digital HDTV reception from a variety of broadcast sources. Its HTML5-compliant browser provides an open and flexible platform for application development. Kamai supports HLS to enable adaptive streaming for delivery of video content, including HD, over an un-managed network. Kamai also provides DRM support for content protection while enabling creative licensing terms and side-loading (portability) applications.

Kamai easily integrates with existing home networks and broadband services. The integrated Ethernet and Wi-Fi* (802.11 b/g/n) connections provide hassle-free installation and setup. Subscribers can also conveniently download and transfer their personal media via the built-in USB connector. With Kamai, subscribers can blend and connect to a variety of traditional broadband services, as well as extend the capabilities of their existing home networks for more content delivery choices.
